Also, what other flowers do you need besides the one that the bride holds? I am so clueless when it comes to weddings!!!
I dont really care about decorations around the church, its going to be a short ceremony with about 8 ppl present so I dont need lavish decorations to impress anyone. Im just wondering what other flowers I will need for ppl to wear/carry?
How do you deal with flowers for a Destination Wedding?
i am a florist and have done many
email is the best way to communicate
find pics that you like online and send the florist a link, they will give you pricing and suggestions if you just communicate your needs
Reply:Flowers are optional.
Reply:if you have any brides maids let them carry a single white lily with a fabric tie around it that match the color theme of the wedding. the best thing to do is to get with a florist in the town that you are getting married in. that way your flowers will be fresh. you should be able to order them over the phone if you know what kind of flowers you want. or you can check to see if the company has a website or just look up some flowers online so that you will know what you want.
Reply:Your destination wedding coordinator should handle that for you. Are you doing this alone, or did you even hire a coordinator to take care of things locally so you're not saddled w/ extra long distance call, mailing and other expenses related to trying to plan a wedding from a thousand miles away? If you're having it at a resort, they can easily arrange a florist for you. Otherwise, call some local florists and arrange for them to do the bouquets and deliver them to the site just as you would at home. The down shot is that you won't be able to see the bouquet in person unless you're going down at least a few days before the wedding so that you know what the florist's vision looks like, and whether you two agree.
Reply:I got married in Florida on the beach and I went to a florist (just picked on that I saw) and they made my bouquet from fresh flowers and it was amazing. I had a wore a white sundress and my husband wore khakis and a nice white button shirt. The flowers were mostly pink and white and were beautiful - they were the only flowers that I had except for a small bouquet for my maid of honor - we had only 9 people there - I wouldn't have changed a thing! Congratulations!
Reply:I had a destination wedding in Hawaii with just immediate family -- I actually ended up getting flowers at Costco! I bought a few different rose arrangements very inexpensively and brought ribbon from home. I cut the stems of the roses to an appropriate bouquet length and wrapped/tied the stems with the ribbon. I had a beautiful rose bouquet for myself and my female witness for a very reasonable price. Just pick them up the day of the ceremony and stop stressing! Like you said, the day isn't about impressing anyone - it is about getting to marry the man of your dreams! Congratuations!
Reply:Your best bet is to look online for a florist in your area and then contact them. Send them pictures showing what you want, and get quotes. before you book anyone, you will need to see their work - ask to see photos of past weddings (online, email, fax, etc)
For flowers - you should have flowers for you, bouquets for the bridesmaids, boutineirres for the groom and groomsmens, and boutineirres/corsages for the parents/grandparents who are attending. Other things you might want flowers for include alter arrangements or something for the signing table or guestbook table if you are having those.
