I was just wondering why they have them and what started families having them at funerals? what is the origin of doing this? I looked on line and all I can fins is how to order flowers, I don't want to know how to order them I want to know why and how it got started having the big spray on the coffin at funerals??
What is the origin of funeral sprays?
It's the same as having a big spray of flowers on a long dining room table, coffee table, over a window, (as a window treatment) or anywhere else a small bouquet would look stupid. It just looks better.
Reply:That idea must come from a florist who also owned a funeral home. The dead doesn't care what you do after they are gone for good.
