Yeah so I ordered my flowers the other day (yes I am using silks)... then realized I only got flowers for 1 bridesmaid's bouquet, not 2. Forgot to order a MOH bouquet. Yeah AND I forgot 3 guest tables.
EESH!!
So what was your biggest oops during your wedding planning?
Ps this has been the only oops so far so I'm counting my blessings
What was your biggest wedding planning oops?
I'm a planner and the biggest oops I had to deal with is when my Bride got fed up with her mom, his mom, aunt and grandma who apparently chose everything cancelled everything (I mean everything) the day before the wedding. She called me up and said she had done something and she needed my help. I said I'm here for you and all my brides who may need a guiding hand and that's when she told me what she had done. Needless to say I told her that I needed to see her and her fiance NOW and we met at my office. I explained that by her doing what she did not only meant they would have nothing for their wedding but that she lost all the deposits they had given as those are non-refundable. Then I told them let's go shopping. Since I knew what she had as far as a dress, cake, flowers, etc. after hanging up with her I immediately called my vendors, told them the story and went from there. I sent the groom in to get fitted for his tux(tuxes were already he just had to get alterations), took the bride into a bridal shop(dresses had been pulled and set aside so we just walked in), met up with the groom had lunch, went to bakery for taste testing (already had been set up),went to florist (he had made a small sample of her bouquet),had a photographer/videographer already set, D.J. was my own choice (always had him as a backup), sent them home to relax just long enough to gather wedding party together and meet me at the tux and bridal shop. Had an emergency rehersal and sent them home. Told them all they needed to do was show up at the venue and everything would be there in place waiting to go. Had sent limo to pick up bridal party and bring them to the venue. Had set up hair and makeup there, dressing rooms for all with refreshments so they could just breathe for an instant before the day began. After everything was said and done, I gave the couple an envelope and told them this was my gift to them on their special day. Little did they know that the envelope contained all their deposits they thought they lost and a note stating that everything that they had received was on the house and the balance due was zero.
That was 1991.....................
Reply:David's Bridal lost my friends dress when she took it in for steamcleaning. They couldn't find it. Her mother flew in 2 wks before wedding %26amp; spent the entire day in David's Bridal searching for it. (On day 2 it was found) Report It
Reply:Wow hollywoodmelody you really saved the day!! Report It
Reply:it wasn't a plan oops , but i did start laughing + could not stop , no matter how hard i tried , the lady judge told me not a da*n thing was funny about it . that only made it worse .
Reply:My biggest wedding planning opps was when I didn't have enough favors for all the guests. It wasn't anything major but it was something.
Reply:Well my 3 biggest oops.. were NOT going to vegas like my hubby had suggested
2: I should have taken a honeymoon, instead of showing my stupid in-laws around california the week we were married
3: Inviting my room mates to my wedding and reception.
Suffice it to say.. My wedding day sucked!! Good luck.
Reply:My first wife!
Reply:I'm planning my big day in a year or two i think i have everything but this is a good question so i gave you a star to see others answers
Reply:We've not ordered anything yet, but have already managed to offend people with our guest lists! Argh! We have no money, so why should we invite family members we hardly know?
And if you don't want kids there, where do you draw the line? My partner has a niece and nephew (7 and 4), and then our best friends have kids...
Reply:My biggest wedding oops was the invitations. I made my own they came out beautiful..all 235 of them. However I forgot to put the place of the ceremony on the invitations!! So I put them on a card that resembled our RSVP card...I was not about to do all of them over again! To this day I say to myself..DUH You idiot! LOL
Reply:I haven't even begun to start yet... It is the end of next year... I'm sure I will have many. I should probably start, huh?
Reply:Wow !!you got out easy...I had no wedding ring..I had to use a borrowed one... My husband ordered them and when mine came it ..It didn't fit at all so the jeweler promised to have it back in time...I got it 3 weeks after the wedding....
My bridesmaids gowns got lost in the mail and 2 days before the wedding they were found ...Thank God they all fit!!!
My husband didn't tell me that he ordered baby blue tuxes til 1 week before...he just said blue ...when I found out ..I made him go exchange them all ...I had bright red ,,bridesmaids dresses ,,and I didn't want a red white and baby blue wedding in 1976 (The bicentennial)
My photographer was 15 mins late getting to the wedding ,,,someone blocked his driveway .....So I was late..
Same thing with flowers...My flowers got messed up and 3 girls didn't have headpieces.....So we made something up with flowers That were centerpieces at the reception ....
My husband was not well,,,,could have to do with we stayed out til 4 hrs before we were supposed to get married....We wanted to spend as much time celebrating with our friends ...Since they all would have to go back to college right after the wedding...
The car keys that were supposed to be safe and secure for our honeymoon ,,,got misplaced ....so we couldn't leave til the next day...That sort of was a blessing in desguise...WE were SOOO TIRED to drive anywhere...
We had a bed and an Apt but it wasn't supposed to be in until after the wedding...so NO pillows or blankets even...At least it was Summer time and warm....
The list goes on....But we still laugh about all the things that happened ...GOOD ,BAD,UGLY .....It still was a PERFECT DAY and we are still married 32 yrs later....
Reply:So far so good for me. I dont think i will know for sure if i had made a mistake until the very day! Im really praying that everything goes as planned!
Very good questions by the way, gives us that are currently planning a heads up on what to look for! Im marking this an interesting question!
Good luck with the rest of your planning! I bet everything is going to be beautiful!
Reply:well my fiancee and i decided to make our own invitations to save money, (we just got a home computer) so we typed them all up i got the decorative printing paper. i printed out 150 invitations and we proof read them. we thought that everything looked just fine. a week later my Soon to be mother in-law comes for a visit and she wants to see the invitations. i was very proud of my self for making them. she read over them, she looked up at me and said YOU FORGOT TO ADD THE DATE.! needless to say i had to start over. with the expense of the paper and more ink i probably should of just had them professionally done. GOOD LUCK. !!!
Reply:not including it will be an adult only wedding! and somehow telling people that because they got an invitation doesn't mean that everyone on the block they( guest knows) can come as well to a wedding , some of these people I don't even know. ( very irritated )
some people have no manners.
I was going to have open seating but now , it will be all about assigned seating no seating card you are not sitting your but down at a table ... with an univited guest for a free meal %26amp; free drinks all night.
Sorry i am just so angry about this...
