fun!!!

-your dress at least 4 months in advance some stores take as long as 18 weeks to bring it but dont forget you need to try it on 2 weeks before the weeding and a week before the weeding... If you are planning on loose weigth.... check with the store you are ordering from...

-bridesmades... at leats 5 weeks before...

-tux 6 weeks before check for it you can pick it up one day before the wedding

-flowers.....pick them as fast as you want but try to schedule w florist at least 5 weeks before (check for that season flowers summer has very bice colors)

-cake a 6 weeks before and check 2 weeks before to make sure everything is fine

-priest do it as fast as you can book some where or where you decide june is a good month to get marry so some places get booked really fast

-invitations are ordered 4 months before wedding as soon as you get the date you can also send "save the date" card and then you send the invitations out 1-2 months before the weedding

-hall as soon as you decide where it will be... the faster the better

- engagement pics... do it soon like 5 or 4 months before

-book dj like 5-6 weeks before if you know what kind of music you want write a list and give it to your dj.... or show him your ipod

-music on ceremony ask on where your ceremony will be and then try to have some one on the list before the 4th week...

Reply:I've already got 9 of the items on your list accomplished and I'm getting married two months after you.

If you've found a reception all that is open, book it ASAP!! But make sure you're definitely happy with it! We booked our original site back in September, and over the past month have been increasingly worried about it (the place is wrapped up in city politics and now it may even be closing) so I've been stressing about finding somewhere else. I finally did...but lemme tell ya, it's been hell! This week will especially be bad with all the new Christmas/holiday engagements. In talking with the guy at the new place today, he already had four calls this morning (and it's a little known location).

I have a goal of getting invitations ordered by the beginning of February. We'll likely send them out mid-June for RSVP mid July.

I don't see that you have an actual photographer (besides engagement pictures) listed. Do that as soon as possible...and many include engagement pics in the package (our's did).

With the reception hall(s) you're interested in, is the catering included or do you need to find a caterer? If so, you need to get on that asap.

If you have a lot of out of town guests, consider getting a block of rooms booked at a hotel...often they'll give discounts for that sort of thing.

If you're having a rehearsal dinner, find a location for that.
Reply:I am going to tell you about the flowers since I am a wedding florist. I, myself get booked 4-5 months in advance so you should book your florist right away. A lot of brides wait until 2 months before the wedding to book a florist. What they don't know is this costs more because it is a rush order. So definitely start looking.
Reply:1. Order the dress ASAP. It is generally recommended to allot 6 months for alterations.

2. The bridesmaids dresses shouldn't need as many alterations, but they should also be ordered soon.

3. The tux can be ordered a couple months before the wedding, through a company like Al's Formal Wear.

4. You should start interviewing florists immediately. If you have already found one you like, book them now.

5. You don't have to have a cake design picked out yet, but you should find a baker soon.

6. The priest isn't as urgent of a task, but the sooner you ask, the more likely it is that he/she will be available.

7. Depending upon delivery times, you should order the invitations next month.

8. Send invitations out 8 weeks before the wedding, sooner if you have a lot of out of town guests.

9. Have the RSVP cards returned 3 weeks before the wedding. This will allow time for stragglers.

10. Book the reception hall today, if you already have it picked out. Keep in mind that it may already be booked, so you could need a backup.

11. Engagement pictures aren't a rush. As long as they are completed before the bridal portraits.

12. Book the DJ along the same time line as the florist and baker.

13. You will want to book ceremony music soon too.

2-Around 4-5 months before ceremony, in case of alterations.

3-A month or two before ceremony.

4-About a month before ceremony.

5-Talk to someone a few months beforehand, and check with them again a few weeks before the ceremony.

6-ASAP, in case they require pre-marital couseling.

7-3-4 months before wedding, just in case something is spelled incorrectly/dates wrong, so you have time to order more.

8-3-4 weeks before wedding.

9-1 week before actual wedding.

10-ASAP

11-About a month or two before ceremony.

12-ASAP

13-Call around ASAP

Start shopping around for centerpieces if you're having a dinner, and go in the day before the wedding to look at the flowers and make sure that they're what you want. Don't wait until the last minute to get alterations, or they may be done incorrectly and you won't have time to fix them. Get your hair and make-up appointments set (if you're having it done) and check on your reservations for the honeymoon (if you're having one). Call DJ and set up a time to pick out music for first dance/certain songs you don't want played. Good luck and congrats!!
Reply:No offense, but you are behind.

You may have trouble pulling off a wedding in such a short amount of time. If you are having a larger, more trational wedding then you will not be able to book a reception site now. June is the most popular month for weddings. Some of those reception sites book a year in advance.

I would do that first, book the reception site. Then book the music, DJ, pictures. But, you might not get first pick, because though vendors also book quick.

Honestly, I would worry about those before getting the invites and such.

Try the checklist at TheKnot.com and see what they say for the time frame for the rest.

Usually, you should order your dress at least 6 months before your wedding. That way, it can arrive and be altered in a timely fashion.
Reply:book church and reception asap...then order wedding dress...pick out color that you want to do bridesmaids dresses...then book music...invites go out about 6 weeks before wedding..giving 2 weeks for rsvp......order flowers anytime...engagement pics can be any time...i know some who put in soon as they are engaged..others one month before wedding....keep notebooks..do cake soon because they also book fast...but church, priets first to make sure you have date set...been there done that mom of 6
