What is the correct spelling for this?

Ok, so we just moved into a new neighborhood, and all of the streets are named after flowers. Our street sign for our street says Daisy...........well, at closing they told us the city recognises it as Daisey.Did they mis spell our street sign, or does the city have it mis spelled? On all of our bills it says Daisey. I always thought the flower was spelled daisy.........Just curious which is correct...............I am about to order the mailing stickers, and don't know which spelling to put on there!!!! Thanks!!!!

What is the correct spelling for this?
You're right the spelling for the flower is Daisy. I think I would go for what you prefer. It won't matter on your mailing stickers because they use the zip/postal code anyways. The city probably spelled it as a variation. Is there two streets called Daisy (Daisey) in your city? Maybe that's why they choosen that spelling?

Good Luck
Reply:well the correct spelling for the flower is without the 'e' but it seems at some point someone mispelled it and that the accepted spelling for your street is with the 'e'.

I imagine when the signs were made they just presumed daisy.

If all the bills come as Daisey and the city calls it Daisey then I would accept that as being the true spelling, Especially since the bills obviously reach you so the post office recognises it as Daisey!

In the grand scheme of things because I assume you also have some form of postal code your mail would probably reach you no matter which way you spell it but even though i am a non-conformist by nature in this case I would go with the majority.
Reply:I would go with what the sign says. For the flower it is misspelled. But the city has the liberty to spell it anyway they want.
