Ordering rose petals for the ceremony?

I totally left this for last minute :( But would like to order rose petals for the flower girl. (Our ceremony will be outside so we aren't using silk)

Does anyone know how much it costs? Can I order them through someplace like Walmart or must I use a florist? Also, how far in advance do I need to order them?

All answers appreciated :)

Ordering rose petals for the ceremony?
i would call walmart and some other florists. you might call your grocery stores too. a lot of them have floral dpts now.

you might have to get roses and let them open to harvest the petals. could save you a bunch in the long run

oh look at garden centers too. i know a few of our local ones sell roses by the dozen for dirt cheap.
Reply:Have you considered freeze dried petals. that is what i ended up using. fresh petals can be very expensive. we did a petal cone toss using freeze dried hydrangea. our wedding was outdoor as well. we didn't have a flower girl, so the bridesmaids and i lined either edge of the aisle sides with petals as well. we used spray adhesive to keep them in place. i ordered my petals from Flyboy Naturals (.com for their web address) i was very pleased with the product, and the price wasn't crazy.
Reply:You can get rose petals at your local Krogers store if they sell flowers there. Or Walmart all you do is ask the florist . I would call and put your order in soon because there are alot of proms coming up. GOOD LUCK!!!

Reply:if you are having the ceremony outside, check that you are able to use rose petals. I know some places don't allow it as they can ruin the natural habitat in certain areas. In terms of ordering them, ring around and ask, check with the florist/walmart how far in advance you should order. If you want to get ready earlier, you can buy freeze dries rose petals, they are about $30 for a bag with 10 cups of petals in it. They are real, and look fresh and last 6 months
