What color shirts should the guys in my wedding wear to match my gown?

I've ordered my dress in a color called Light Gold, which is a very pale gold color. I've heard that the best option is for the guys to wear ivory shirts and vests, but i'm afraid it might look too light next to my dress. It's also difficult to find flower girl dresses to match. I think it's too late to change the color since the dress has been ordered already, so i need shirts and flower girl dresses to match. The bridesmaids have elegent black dresses so anything will match with them. Any suggestions?

The ivory color sounds ideal. Off-white kinds of colors have goldish undertones that will coexist and not dominate the color of your dress. You don't necessarily want everything to be the exact same color everywhere you look. You want everyone to coordinate and compliment you, the star attraction...
Reply:why dont you have them wear white shirts, gold vests and ties and a black jacket? i think that will look nice. as for the flower girls, a white dress w/ a gold sash around their waist, or if you want them to match w/ the bridesmaids, a black sash will do.
Reply:I would have the guys wear all black with pale gold ties, that way you'll really standout while, of course, matching everyone. Congrats! and good luck. oh and about the flower girl dresses my best guess is to have them wear white dresses with a pale gold sash and pale gold shoes.
Reply:ivory shirt and a bright color vest, wedding color. ivory flower girl dress. There are some very cute cheap new ones on ebay
Reply:The men should probably wear vests like these: http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.as...

and regular shirts like these: http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.as... .

For flower girls, I'd go with dresses like these: http://www.davidsbridal.com/flowergirl_d...

Good Luck!
Reply:the bride pick the color of the dresses and the groom picks the color of the shirts. are you trying to control him already.
Reply:I heard a fashion tip from a very popular girl once working in modeling and pageants:

"Women dress to compliment, men dress to contrast."

If you expect the men to all wear black tuxes, they'll likely want white shirts underneath. You should either get ivory white to contrast the tuxes or a white with a hint of color that matches the gowns (like a mint white to match a green gown--I don't know off hand what would match a light gold, but you could take a look at a color pallet and get some ideas.)

When you're planning a wedding, you should always work your way down from top to bottom in importance. Everyone in the room will have their eyes fixed on the bride (sorry groom). Your dress should be the finest and your personal favorite and never let anything change your mind. Next is the groom's clothing, followed by the bridal party and last are the decorations. Everything should be arranged to compliment you and your gown, not the other way around.
